Rosy Finch Tomato is an open-pollinated, determinate cherry tomato variety that produces abundant yields of rosy-red, delicious fruits. Unlike most cherry tomato varieties which produce large, indeterminate vines, this variety produces compact, determinate plants which are great for small spaces like containers or raised bed gardens. This is an early-maturing variety that starts producing fruits at just 55 days after transplanting.

Rosy Finch Tomato plants average 18-24" tall and produce concentrated fruit sets of 1" cherry tomatoes. Although compact, plants produce substantial foliage to protect the fruits from sun scald. This variety pairs well with our Yellow Canary Tomato and is great for salads or slicing in half for topping pasta dishes.

 

Growing Information

Tomatoes are in the nightshade family along with peppers and eggplant. Plants in the nightshade family are susceptible to blossom end rot, which is a result of a calcium deficiency. To prevent or alleviate this problem, apply pelleted gypsum at the base of the plant at bloom set. Tomatoes do best when transplanted, as the germination time can be longer than most vegetable seed. They grow very well in our heavy-duty seed starting trays. Plants should be started 4-6 weeks before the intended outdoor planting date.

If conditions outside are favorable, transplants may be planted directly from our 162 cell trays. If conditions are still too cold for planting tomatoes, transplants may be "stepped-up" to 4" pots to allow more room to grow. Tomatoes can produce heavy fruits and will require some form of support to keep the plant upright. This ensures that plants and fruits stay off the ground, reducing the possibility of disease and keeping fruits clean.

Great little plant and the tomatoes are excellant!

This was the second order I made for Rosy finch. We loved the size of the plant and how healthy they were. Very easy to grow and tons of pretty little tomatoes!

This is an amazing tomato. It is a tiny plant, but it produces a never-ending supply of little tomatoes. Just amazing! Easily will grow in a 2 gallon pot.
