Description

Impatiens Camellia Mix is an heirloom, open-pollinated flower mix that's easy to plant and grow in any size garden. This is a branching annual that will grow until the first frost in fall/winter. The plants will grow as tall as 18-30" and are a great option for raised bed gardens or containers. They also make a great border plant for an in-ground vegetable garden.

Impatiens Camellia Mix contains a variety of colors including rose, salmon, white, scarlet, and violet. The plants produce double flowers which are full and beautiful. Impatiens prefer rich and well-drained soils that remain moderately moist. They work well when planted on drip irrigation on the last or outside row of a vegetable garden plot.

Impatiens Camellia Mix can be direct-seeded or transplanted. These Seeds usually germinate fairly easy, so direct-seeding is the most efficient way of planting. If weed pressure or timing is an issue, they can be transplanted as well. To direct seed, create a small furrow in the soil and scatter the seed along the furrow. Use a garden rake to lightly cover the seed and pack the planted area. This mix grows well when planted on double rows with drip irrigation. Lay one row of drip tape and plant on both sides of the tape to maximize garden space.

Impatiens also perform well when transplanted. They grow great in our heavy-duty seed starting trays. Transplants are ready to go in the ground when plants can be easily pulled from the seed starting trays. Camellias are heat-tolerant and will continue to produce throughout the warm months of summer. To maximize production, prune or “dead-head” plants to promote the development of new blooms.
