Check out our Corn Growing Guide to learn more about how to grow corn in your garden.

Honey Select Sweet Corn is a triplesweet, sugary-enhanced hybrid with tender, flavorful and sweet kernels. It has 75% sugary-enhanced kernels, and 25% supersweet kernels, making it the perfect combination of corn flavor and sweetness. Plants produce large, 8" ears that are filled to the tip. Honey Select Sweet Corn was an All-America Selections winner in 2001. It germinates and emerges well in cooler soils and, because it has mostly sugary-enhanced genes, does not require isolation from other supersweet varieties. Honey Select has great storage and field holding ability, allowing for longer harvest and processing windows.

Sweet corn should be planted in the spring after the last frost date. Sweet corn can be grown throughout the warmer months up until fall, as long as time is permitted for harvest before first frost. Succession planting is recommended with at least two plantings, one in early spring and one in late summer/early fall. Corn ear worm pressure will be greater in the warmer months, but this can be alleviated by applying spinosad to silks and tassels once they appear.

We recommend planting sweet corn using a walk-behind planter like our Hoss Garden Seeder. Once plants emerge, thin plants to 6-8" depending on adequate irrigation. If drip irrigation is used, in-row spacing may be as close as 6". If water is scarce, a wider in-row spacing will be necessary. For pollination purposes, corn should be planted in a square plot with rows on 30-36" spacing. Planting a few long rows will result in poor germination and absence of kernels on the cobs.

It's so good

Honey Select is the best sweet corn I think I've ever had. I'm shocked how well it grew, it survived 2 late frosts this spring and bounced right back.
More of a young corn trait I'm sure, but super tickled at this variety of corn.

I have been growing this sweet corn for a couple of years now and just love it. Has excellent germination, it freezes well and tastes great. Hoss is my primary place to buy seeds hands down. Keep it up Hoss.
