A Tax Exemption Certificate – often referred to as a Reseller Certificate, or Reseller Permit - is issued by your state – usually a Department of Revenue - so that sellers will not charge sales tax on orders. Non-profit organizations such as churches, schools and government agencies are typically tax exempt.  Many of our customers are farms and other agriculturally based organizations and often have a state issued certificate that allows them to make farm-related purchases without sales taxes applied.

Some organizations purchase products for resale and will be required to present their state issued Reseller Certificate. The regulations vary by state and each state is responsible for issuing tax exemptions to qualifying businesses (sales tax certificate, sales tax id number, etc.). Check with your state’s tax authority for more details.
