Godzilla Broccoli is a new hybrid variety with a very appropriate name. The heads on this broccoli variety remind us of Godzilla's head emerging from the water in the old films. This unique broccoli variety produces very large heads that grow higher on the plant than traditional varieties. The leaves are also set lower on the plant. The elevated head and lower leaves make for easier harvesting. Heads have small, fine beads which gives them an excellent texture. This is a great variety for raw consumption or cooking. Cut florets into small pieces for your favorite vegetable tray, or throw in the steamer for a quick meal. It also stores well when blanched and frozen.

Broccoli may be direct-seeded, but it performs best when transplanted. Transplanting allows for more consistent plant spacing, and prevents broccoli seedlings from competing with weeds in the early stages of the plant. We recommend starting transplants 3-4 weeks before the desired outdoor planting date. Broccoli transplants grow great in our heavy-duty seed starting trays, where they develop a solid root ball with roots that are trained to grow downward. Plants are ready to go in the ground when they can be easily pulled from the cells in the seed starting tray.

Broccoli crowns should be harvested when they are dark green, before any flowers or Seeds develop on the crowns. As temperatures warm in the spring, broccoli crowns will mature faster and should be monitored. Although broccoli leaves are frost-tolerant, broccoli heads are not. If frost is imminent while crowns are developing, be sure to use some form of row cover to protect the crowns from frost.

Really large heads

Really happy with this variety. Average weight is about 4 pounds, would be heavier but my wife doesn't harvest much of the stem. I planted 18 and all produced really tight heads with a bluish tent. Absolutely no bug or disease pressure

Order processed quickly. I have already started seeds in green house . All seeds planted have sprouted.

Great price for quantity. I’m looking forward to plant some this fall and again in Spring
