Description
Bennings Green Tint Squash is an heirloom, open-pollinated "patty pan" variety that is highly regarded as one of the best tasting summer squash varieties. Bushy plants reach 3-4' in size and produce light green, scalloped fruits that are best harvested when 3-4" in diameter. Bennings Green Tint Squash have a wonderful texture and flavor, and tend to be more nuttier than traditional crookneck summer squash or zucchini. Introduced in 1914, this variety has been a favorite of market gardeners and backyard farmers for many years. The tender, young fruits are great prepared raw or cooked.
