Description
Armenian Striped Cucumber is an heirloom, open-pollinated variety that originated in Armenia. This Persian-style cucumber is commonly referred to as snake melon, as it is more closely-related to a honeydew melon than an actual cucumber. You'll also see this variety called "painted serpent" due to the long, curved appearance of the fruit.
Armenian Striped Cucumber produces unique-looking fruits that are best harvested at 10-18" long. The fruits are long and slender with slight ridges among the alternating light green and dark green stripes. This variety has an exceptionally crisp texture and sweet flavor, making it a great slicing cucumber. The beautiful exterior will surely make a statement on any salad or raw vegetable platter.
