Amish Paste Tomato is an indeterminate, open-pollinated variety that was originally obtained from the Amish community in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This variety produces Roma-type tomatoes that are generally oblong, but can vary in shape from one fruit to the next. Fruits have a characteristic, red tomato color and will weigh around 8-12 ounces on average. Amish Paste Tomato is the perfect variety for all types of canning and preserving applications. They have a solid tomato flavor, but are not quite as acidic as traditional heirloom varieties. Use Amish Paste for making salsa, tomato paste and canning tomato sauces.
Order was processed quickly and I received quickly. I am just waiting on right time to plant.
We live in west Texas in it gets hot (100+) and dry (months with out rain) and these tomatoes didn't miss a beat. Not only did they set fruit in 100+ temps but the size was amazing. We will be growing these every year for sure.
Everything arrived perfectly! Can't wait to get started with the garden next year!
Love these. Mine are very prolific this year.
I grow these ever year even though they seem to produce a lot of vine, their production and can be low to average high. they seem more prone to illnesses. However I grow them becuse they are the only good tasting tomato that does not have much seeds or juice. I used them as both a slicer, salads, salsa, sauce and on sandwiches and they larger than other paste tomatoes. I grow them because they are unique in their application
