Description
Purple hardneck garlic is a Creole-type variety which gets its name from the purple skin of its cloves. The Creole types are later to mature, but they do tend to perform better than the other hardneck varieties in regions with warmer climates, and it's great for long-term storage. Bold, intense flavor without the heat makes it a great garlic variety to eat raw. It grows best in USDA zones 3-8. Bulb size averages 1.5" - 2". Allium sativum.
