Description

Be sure to check out our Cucumber Growing Guide to learn more about how you can successfully grow cucumbers at home.

Max Pack Cucumber is a hybrid, pickling variety that has the broadest disease-package of any pickling cucumber. Max Pack is widely-adapted and will perform well in a wide variety of growing zones. The broad disease-resistance makes this a great variety to grow in hot and humid climates where powdery mildew and downy mildew can be a problem.

Max Pack is a very productive variety that produces heavy yields of 4-4.5" pickling cucumbers. If you like making pickles, this is the variety for you! Fruits are consistently-sized and don't get bitter as temperatures warm in early summer. These pickling cucumbers also have a small seed cavity which makes them a great variety for cutting and pickling spears.

Cucumbers perform best when direct seeded. They do not perform as well when transplanted. Cucumbers may be direct-seeded by hand or with a walk-behind seeder. To obtain a good stand of plants, we suggest planting Seeds every 6-8" inches and thinning to one seed per foot.

Cucumbers are a vining plant and grow best when given a trellised structure to climb. Use a strong trellis that is well-supported with deeply driven stakes. Keeping plants off the ground will reduce the potential of plant diseases like mildews and other diseases that can result from excess plant moisture.

Trellising will also keep the fruits cleaner and save time with harvesting and processing. It will also help to prevent fruit discoloration or yellowing from sitting on the soil surface. Our Hortonova Trellis Netting works great for trellising cucumbers and is easy to install.

Seed garden label included in seed pack.

Crankin Out Cukes Even Though it Looked Dead

This plant is incredible! It put out the stockiest mini cukes but they are crunchy and delicious. Even when it was almost 100 degrees here, this thing wouldn't stop putting out cucumbers, sometimes even in clusters. We easily got 100 cucumbers from the two plants we planted. This will definitely be an addition to my garden every year. This is my second review for these so I'm still awed by this variety!

Best cucumber

Hands down best pickling cucumber. The plant itself was very hearty. They were the best tasting cucumbers and made a very good yield!!! Will definitely order again!!

Very freaking productive

I planted these in early April, and even though I read the comments that said they were super prolific, I didn't believe them. I planted eight and I get a half gallon +quart/ pint worth of sliced pickles every three days. This is way more then I need and I just keep canning thinking they'll die soon, cucumbers for me usually die around the first week of June. Nope. They are going to live forever and I'm going to die under mounds of pickles. At least they are delicious.

THESE ARE SUPER PRODUCTIVE.

Cucumbers

I received the seeds, however it is too early to tell. I won't plant for a month or so.
