Hoss Garden Seeder

$39999
  • Hoss Garden Seeder: durable and versatile walk-behind garden planter.
  • Innovative seed plate design for customizable planting.
  • Makes planting easy and efficient.
  • USA Made!
Description

The Hoss Garden Seeder allows you to easily plant your vegetable garden with accuracy and precision. Our innovative seed plate design allows you to easily customize seed plates to fit the variety of seed you're planting. Seed plates lie flat in the hopper and can be easily changed without wasting excess seed.

The Hoss Garden Seeder has a rolling coulter or rolling disk that opens a furrow for the dropping seed. This double disk furrow opener works great in soils that have heavy organic residue from prior vegetable or cover crops. Once the seed drops into the planting furrow, the drag chain covers the seed and the rear wheel packs the soil to ensure optimal germination.

The Hoss Garden Seeder is constructed with Amish-crafted hardwood handles, 15″ steel wheels, and a powder-coated steel frame. The handles are adjustable to the users height. The steel frame ensures the unit is stable and easy to push in a straight line along the row.

Hoss Garden Seeder features:

  • Removable hopper for filling and emptying seed
  • Adjustable planting depth from 1/4″ – 1 1/2″
  • Stand-alone design with back kickstand
  • Plant small to large Seeds with accuracy and precision
  • Easily change seed plates with simple wingnut design

Great product

The worst planter investment

I bought this planter two or three years ago, so this review is coming after attempting to use it many times. I wasn't getting adequate seed spacing and consistent seed drop. I contacted Hoss several times to get my money back, and they admitted that the seed cup/box was not working well for some seed and that they were coming out with a "new" box and would send me one. They finally did send it; a basic plastic box and the seed basically is free flowing with no adjustment for spacing. Again, a terrible idea. And it's difficult to get an accurate adjustment on planting depth for various seeds.

After not getting my money back, I offered to send it back if they would send me a box to package it. They did not. So, I wasted nearly $400 on a product that doesn't work, and customer service was awful. Typically, I don't write reviews and if I do, it's because the product or service was very good. But finally, I've come to the conclusion that I must do my civil duty and warn other gardeners, unsuspecting customers, to not waste their money on a useless product and one in which the company won't return a person's money when dissatisfied. I'm not only upset with Hoss but also with myself for wasting hard earned money. I'm in my mid 70's and I don't have this kind of money to throw around. I find it interesting that there are no "poor" or "bad" reviews regarding this planter. Is Hoss embarrassed by honest reviews? My experience has been nothing but frustration from the very start.

WARNING: Don't waste your money on this over-priced planter.

Good Afternoon Mr. Jorgensen,

We’re truly sorry to hear that you’ve had a frustrating experience with the Garden Seeder, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. You purchased the seeder in April of 2023, and in November of 2023, we did send you the updated Drill Hopper free of charge in response to your concerns. We do stand behind our 100% satisfaction guarantee, and always aim to make it right when the issue is the result of our error. Our return policy covers unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund or exchange, and opened items within that timeframe may be returned with a 10% restocking fee. Proof of purchase and return authorization are required, and unfortunately, we are unable to accept returns for used items or those outside the return window.

While we are outside of that policy timeframe in this case, we regret that the product did not meet your expectations and your experience fell short of what we strive for.

My Dad say buy a Hoss

my father died in 2016 at 96....he planted corn all his life, 600+ acres with mechanized equipment and one acre when he retired....he always bought the cheapest hand planter and bought a new one every 2 or 3 years....3 months before he died, he said to me, "buy a Hoss"....I did and 9 years later, it's never needed any service and functions perfectly.....the "temptation" and "providence" sweet corn he always planted still grow in his fields, thanks to Hoss.....what a perfect story

Hoss seeder

Hoping y'all come out with a fertilizer hopper for the seeder. Plan to buy additional plates soon. Wish y'all sold a pack of at least 3-4 plank plates to make my own. Happy with the seeder and hope to wear it out.
