Growing Information

Growing Instructions

Growing fresh thyme is easy with our 4-inch Thyme Seed Disks. Fill a pot with a quality potting mix, place the seed disk on the soil surface, and cover with approximately ⅛ inch of potting mix. Water gently after planting and keep the soil lightly moist until the seeds germinate.

Place your pot in a location that receives 6–8 hours of direct sunlight each day or under grow lights if growing indoors. Thyme seeds typically germinate in 14–28 days when soil temperatures are between 65–75°F.

Once established, thyme thrives in well-drained soil and prefers to dry slightly between waterings. Harvest stems as needed throughout the growing season, trimming just above a leaf node to encourage bushier growth. Fresh thyme is excellent for seasoning meats, vegetables, soups, and breads.

For best results, pair your Thyme Seed Disk with our 5" Terra Cotta Pot Set, complete with matching drip trays, reusable chalkboard labels, and a chalk marker for an organized and attractive herb garden.
