Growing Information

Growing Instructions

Fresh oregano is one of the easiest culinary herbs to grow and will provide flavorful harvests for years with proper care. Fill a pot with a quality potting mix, place the 4-inch Oregano Seed Disk on the soil surface, and cover with approximately ⅛–¼ inch of potting mix. Water thoroughly after planting and keep the soil lightly moist until the seeds germinate.

Place your pot where it will receive 6–8 hours of direct sunlight each day or under grow lights if growing indoors. Oregano seeds typically germinate in 7–14 days when soil temperatures are between 65–75°F.

Once established, oregano prefers slightly drier soil than many other herbs. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, and harvest stems regularly to encourage bushy, compact growth. For the best flavor, harvest leaves just before the plant begins to flower.
