Description
Cosmos Sensation Mix is a colorful blend of cosmos flowers designed for cut flower production. This variety produces plants with strong stems for cutting and using in bouquets or bundles. The large blooms range in color from blush pink, pure white, carmine red and pink. Use it as an addition to the vegetable garden, or plant as a border crop to attract pollinators. The colorful blooms are great for attracting birds, bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects. All of these will improve your vegetable pollination and reduce the presence of harmful insect pests. Cosmos Sensation Mix also works great as a wildflower variety planted in large plots for beautiful landscapes. For this application, cultivate the soil, scatter the seed, and cover lightly.
We recommend transplanting Cosmos Sensation Mix for best results. This flower variety grows great in our heavy-duty seed starting trays with Sungro Black Gold Seed Starting Mix. Place 1-2 Seeds per cell and dust lightly with finely-ground seed starting mix. Once seedlings emerge, thin to one seed per cell. Transplants may be started a few weeks before the last frost date in spring, but can also be grown anytime throughout the warmer months. Transplants are ready to go in the ground when they can be easily pulled from the seed trays. Plants should be placed in the ground after the last frost date in spring or anytime during the spring, summer or early fall growing periods. Cosmos is a warm-weather flower that performs throughout the warmer months. For best results, prune or cut flowers as they bloom. This will ensure the production of continuous blooms throughout the growing season.
