Growing Instructions

Growing fresh basil has never been easier! Simply fill a pot with a high-quality potting mix, place the 4-inch Basil Seed Disk on the soil surface, and cover with approximately ¼ inch of potting mix. Water thoroughly after planting and keep the soil consistently moist until the seeds germinate.

Place your pot in a location that receives 6–8 hours of direct sunlight each day or under grow lights if growing indoors. Basil seeds typically germinate in 5–10 days when soil temperatures are between 70–85°F.

Once seedlings are established, water when the top inch of soil begins to dry. Begin harvesting leaves when plants are 6–8 inches tall, pinching stems just above a set of leaves to encourage bushier growth and continuous harvests.
