Description
The Emerald Blueberry is an excellent choice for gardeners in warmer regions. Developed by the University of Florida and introduced in 1999, this variety was bred for low-chill areas, requiring less than 100 chilling hours to produce solid yields of very large, flavorful blueberries.
Emerald produces long, tight clusters of berries along strong upright canes, creating a striking and productive plant. One of its best features is its extended harvest season; berries ripen gradually rather than all at once, so you can enjoy fresh blueberries over several weeks.
This variety also offers ornamental value with its attractive evergreen foliage and low-maintenance growth habit. Requiring minimal pruning, Emerald maintains a strong, upright form and large size without much effort.
