Meet The Author

This September, our magazine explored a simple trick that makes fall sowing easier: seed tape. Seed tape takes the guesswork out of spacing tiny seeds, cuts down on thinning, and helps you get neat, even rows. This issue walked through how to make your own so you can set your fall garden up for success.

Guiding us through it was Petrina Steacy, creator of Homegrown Florida. Petrina grows fruits, vegetables, and herbs in her suburban Florida garden, and she helps gardeners in warm climates grow, preserve, and cook their own food. Through her articles, videos, books, and social media, she shares practical advice that makes gardening approachable. Her passion is helping gardeners become more self-sufficient while building a deeper connection to their food and the seasons.
