Description

Passion Flowers produce some of the most uniquely beautiful blooms you will see. Native to North and South America, these plants have become extremely popular over the years for medicinal uses. It is a perennial with a natural flowering period of June through September. They will die back in the winter, to prevent die-back in the cooler climates, you can bring your plants indoors throughout the winter months. Passifloraceae. 50-80 days to maturity. 1 gram (approx. 95 seeds per gram)

Passion Flower grows best in USDA hardiness zones 6-10. It loves well-draining but rich and moist soil, you can plant in full sun or partial shade. Only requires 4-6 hours of sunlight a day; in extremely hot climates partial shade is appreciated. For earlier blooms, start indoors 8 weeks before the last frost. Harvest the flower in the morning after the dew has evaporated. You should snip individual flowers from the vine with shears, cutting the stem of the flower off the vine. Cut the base of the stem from the back of the passion flower.
