Description
Amarillo Gold Rudbeckia, also called the "Black-Eyed Susan" is known as the symbol of summer because of its unusually large, deep golden blooms. The sturdy stems and large 4-6" flowers stunned judges during the 2020 All American Selections competition and brought home gold in the Flower category.
The compact, uniform growth habit of Amarillo Gold Rudbeckia will continue to bloom throughout the Spring, Summer, and into early fall. This daisy-like variety is the perfect option for attracting pollinators and other beneficial insects to your vegetable garden during the growing season. These insects will increase your garden harvest and help to reduce your pest and disease pressure. The compact 12-18" plants are great candidates for cut flowers but also make for a great border plant in containers, raised beds, or in-ground. The blooms will need to be pruned throughout the growing season to have continued flowering so be sure to cut the flower stems down as you see the flowers start to die off.
We recommend transplanting Amarillo Gold Rudbeckia for best results. This flower variety grows great in our heavy-duty seed starting trays. Plant one seed per cell and keep soil moist, but not over-saturated. Fertilize seedlings after the appearance of the first true leaves. Plants will be ready to transplant with they can be easily pulled from the cells in the seed tray. Prune blooms for continual performance throughout the growing season.
